“Kayli the Valodictorian”

Mr.Pepper I am writing this post to explain to you all ther reasons I would looooooove to be Valodictorian! (If I recive honours)

1) I would write great things about everyone in my class.

2) I have experiences with everyone, so I could tell funny stories.

3) I would love to talk about my loving family and friends and how theve helped me grow throughtout my elementary years.

4)I feel Ive grow alot as a christian, and Id love my speech to reflect that.

5)It would be a big acomplishment for me.

6) Youve been my favourite teacher so far C:

7)Ive been trying hard with my studies.

8 ) Our class is like a big family, and I want to be the one to explain it.

9) Do you take bribes? Just kiddding !

Hatchet [....3]

(We read up to page 51)

Brian woke up on the beach, rubbed his legs and arms abit. Nothing was broken from the crash, he was just a little sore. Think about how blessed he is not to be hurt. His forehead had a huge gouge in it though. Since he hit his head so hard, he couldnt make thought patterns work right. There were thick sworming herds of mosquitos on the island. I read a book by Stephen King, where the same thing happened to her. She was lost in a forest as well. In moments his eyes were swollen shut the bugs were so bad. I think they will find him eventually, but he will have to wait a while. The only tree he could identify were the evergreens. He was wlaking around, and thinking about what had happened and he came across a beaver dam. He was unbelievevably and viciously thirsty. He had all the water he wanted, but he wasnt sure if it was healthy to drink lake water. He said “Ill just take a sip” , But when he brought a cupped hand to his mouth and felt the cold lake water trickle down his throat he could nat stop. After drinking all that water he was immediatle sick and thre up all the water. The water made his head feel alot better as well, so he could start to think. Hes thinking “They will probably find me today”. And then came hunger, he pushed his thought aside and try to think of something else. Thats when he realized he had the hatchet hooked on his belt still….

My Book – Activity One.

Round and Flat characters.

Round Characters (Characters we get to know well. Round characters have a variety of traits that make them believable.) In my book -Hatchet- I only have one Round/main character. His name is Brian, and He is the boy that is Trapped in the forest.

Flat charaters (Important to the action, but not fully developed. Their function might be to show how the central character behaves or relates to others. Flat characters help make the setting believable. There are varying degrees of flat characters. For some, we will just hear their names. Others we will learn a bit more about.) In the book, there are a couple flat characters in the beginning of the book (before he gets trapped). His mother and the pilot. His mother talks to him a bit in the car before they arrive at the airport, and the pilot has fun with brian in the plane a little before he has a heart attack. The pilot teaches Brian a few thigs about flying the plane.

Events

[The pilot was having a heart attack and even as the knowledge came to Brian he saw the pilot slam into the seat one more time, one more time, one more awful time he slammed back into the seat and his right leg jerked., pulling the plane to the side in a sudden twist and his head fell forward and spit came. Spit came from the corners of his mouth and his legs contracted up, up into the seat, and his eyes rolled back into his head until there was only white.]

The author had this in his book because, it explains what is going on. This event also shows how Brian reacts to things, and later in the book Brian changes and he reacts diffrrently to things. This event helps prove that while he is in the forest he changes, he grows up a bit..if you know what I mean. It is difficult to explain. The author put this event around the start of the story, so that the rest could be about his survival and the new things he learns.

If I was the character in this event, it would take me a little longer to realize that he had a heart attack. In the moment I dont think I would be in shock, Brian sat the re for a few minutes, because he did go into shock. I dont think I would because it usually takes a while for things to set in for me. Also my adrenalin kicks in really easily, so it would just take over and hopefully I would do the right things.

Predictions

Well he just got to an Island, when he wakes up hes going to have to explore a little and understand the situation hes in. Hes going to have to find food, and deal with bugs and animals. I think that he will only bee there for a month at the most. I think that because, he got to talk to someone over the planes radio, and his mother knew where he was going, and his father knew where he was going. One reason why he might not get found quickly is because when the pilot was having a heart attack he jerked the plane off track.

This website, is telling us that tommorow, at 6:00 pm, there will be a rapture. He/she says that the prediction of the end of the world in 2012 is worng, and that tommorrow is the real date.. BUt we wont all die apparently, all the good people will go up to heaven, and the bad people are going to stay down here with demons everywhere. The eoplethat saty down here, have to try to live until october 22nd (I think thats the date he said). If you can survive that long, then God will come dow to judge you.

On his website he has taken words from the bible, but to be honest you can take any verse out of the bible and make someone belive something. Its because you take it out of context, and your not showing the whole verse, or the whole story. He says things like if Noah knew, we can know. But he obviousy doesnt show that the bible says that no one will know the date or the hour of when God comes back to judge the living and the dead. I would like you to check out the website, and tell me what you think.

Since I am a christian I have to do mmy best to respect other peoples beliefs. But this website makes me very angry. I wish I could teach these people what I know about our loving God. ♥

Hatchet [2] C:

Brian contacted someone over the planes radio, but not for long because the signal was horrible and barely talked. He was flying the plane himself for over an hour, then his plane ran out of fuel. The plane was going down so he landed it in a lake, the only other place he could land it was the forests which he didnt think was a good idea. Instant death. While Brian was landing the plane , he threw up. Just had to tell you that. Once he landed in the water, he had to rip his seatbelt off, while he was ripping it off, his fingernails fell off from ripping so hard. We also found out why his parents got divorced: His mom cheated. Anyway, he swam to shore, layed down and fell asleep.

Hatchet C:

In class, we are doing reading groups. I got the book hatchet. We have only read 17 pages, but I am going to tell you what happened so far.

The main character is a 13 year old boy named Brian. His parents are recently divorced. He lives with his mother during the school year, and his father in the summer. At the beginning of the story he is on his way to the airport, to go to his dads house. His mother gives him a gift, a hatchet (a small axe) that he can hook onto his belt – I think that will come in handy at somepoint. Later, he gets on the plane and the pilot has a heart attack. The part Im at in the story, is he is trying to fly the plane himself, and he just found the radio to contact people.
